Since 1946 Denver Kids, Inc. has been serving students, grades K-12, who attend Denver Public Schools. The mission of our program focuses on education and assuring that these students, most of whom come from low income, undereducated homes, recognize the significance high school and college degrees will have in assuring their future success, both economically and personally.
Our very qualified Education Counselors work with school personnel, parents and any agencies or organizations who interface on a regular basis with the students to ensure that everyone is working towards the same goals. Our DKI volunteer mentors provide enriching activities, support and guidance and serve as the positive adult role models so often missing in the students’ lives.
By June of 2008 we hope to be serving 1,000 students. We continue to expand our capacity each year but know there are hundreds more who could benefit from our program.
